The Bauru

With the Rio Olympics starting, it’s time for the Brazilian Bauru to take the spotlight. A truly perfect sandwich to stuff your face with whilst watching others run marathons and push their bodies to the limits. I really do imagine it is what these Olympians would want; for at least their supporters to enjoy the foods they cannot have, else sandwiches tragically wouldn’t get the appreciation they deserve. So do it for Tom Daley.

Although I can’t help but think the win win solution here would be sandwich Olympics. I’m thinking ‘propel the cocktail stick at the sandwich archery’,’take a bite high jump’ and ‘sandwich weight lifting’. We’d probably have to work out some acronyms for the official names but I see big potential people.

Ingredients: (serves 1)
1 crusty bread roll
4 slices of deli roast beef
3 thin tomato slices
4-6 dill pickle slices
3 thick slices mozzarella

1) Heat the oven to 200°.
2) Split roll in halves lengthwise and place the roast beef, tomato, pickles, and mozzarella on bottom.
3) Cover with top bun and place on a baking sheet.
4) Bake until cheese is melted, for about 5 minutes.
5) Serve while hot.
